The team

The adults who plan and run camp

Every counselor is at the door at drop-off and reads the plan before camp starts.

  • Shontae Stallings, director, in a green jacket and a lanyard at a dining hall door

    Shontae Stallings

    Director

Shontae worked as a school aide for many years, beside children who needed an adult nearby, and started Oar so summer could have a plan for them too. She makes the call before the first day and answers the phone at camp.

  • Elham Tamimi, inclusion coordinator, in a sage headscarf and navy fleece on a lodge porch

    Elham Tamimi

    Inclusion coordinator

Elham writes each camper's plan with the family and shares it with every counselor before the first day. Counselors ask her when a plan needs to change.

  • Damien Redfield, counselor, standing on a wooded trail in a grey t-shirt

    Damien Redfield

Counselor, games and the paved loop

Damien leads the morning games and the races on the loop. He plans each game so there is more than one way to play it.

  • Esha Deshmukh, counselor, in a mint tee on cabin steps

    Esha Deshmukh

    Counselor, making and music

Esha runs the making block and the drums in the afternoon. She is the counselor campers find first at the door in the morning.

Meet the team before camp

Call the camp and ask for a time to stop by. Counselors are at the door at drop-off.
